Dr. Jeffrey P. Haggquist, the Clinic’s Medical Director, is a trained osteopathic physician, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, who has studied extensively with Aaron Mattes (father of AIS), worked alongside Mattes in his clinic in Sarasota , FL , served as an instructor at Mattes seminars throughout the country, and presented about Mattes’work at national medical venues.

Haggquist first became acquainted with Mattes’ work more than twenty years ago. Soon after, he went to Mattes for treatment of his own shoulder injury. At the time, Haggquist had sought help from a number of providers to no avail.

Working with Mattes and AIS, Haggquist recovered function in a severely injured shoulder, achieving results that he had not been able to realize anywhere else in the country. Haggquist was a convert!

At the time, Haggquist owned and operated a private, high-volume neuromuscular massage business, where he specialized, in addition to AIS, in St. John’s neuromuscular massage, sports massage, and somatic re-education.

Mattes encouraged Haggquist to seek further education and training, propelling Haggquist to begin preparations for medical school. After owning his own business for 17 years, Haggquist went back to school to pursue an osteopathic degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine.

With his exemplary manual medicine techniques, Haggquist was a teaching assistant for two years of a core courses, Osteopathic Manipulative Principles. He was also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Honor and Service Fraternity.

Haggquist completed his osteopathic internships at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and received his residency training from one of the top-ranked physiatry programs in the country at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

With Aaron’s encouragement, upon finishing his residency, Haggquist chose to establish a one-of-a-kind clinic – that would treat musculoskeletal pathologies, sports injuries, and complex chronic conditions using a range of methodologies, but primarily AIS, to gain rapid and lasting results.

Working with three advanced AIS therapists, Haggquist and his team draw on multiple disciplines and combined expertise to make patients’ experience life-changing.
