Jeffrey Haggquist, DO – Medical Director

Jeffrey HaggquistJeffrey P. Haggquist, DO, is a trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with a focus in musculoskeletal and sports medicine. He is the owner and medical director of Quist MD, located in Washington, DC. Dr. Haggquist completed his residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, his osteopathic internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and his medical education at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Haggquist has studied with Aaron Mattes for more than 20 years, is a national specialist in the Mattes Method of Active Isolated Stretching, and conducts educational workshops and seminars on flexibility, strength, and neuromuscular re-education. Before medical school, Dr. Haggquist owned his own neuromuscular massage therapy practice and was a member of the National Sports Massage team.

Kevin Kenny, CPT – Personal Trainer, AIS Therapist

Kevin Kenny is a staff AIS therapist and certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). He integrates training programs with the Mattes Method of Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening emphasizing core strength, soft tissue trigger and tender point therapy, and overall flexibility. Prior to his professional interest in fitness and rehabilitation, he was Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst for a major national publishing company.

Andrea Morales, LMT – AIS Therapist

Andrea (Andi) Morales, LMT, is a staff AIS Therapist at QuistMD. A graduate of the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in Phoenix, she has held positions at Massage Envy and Hypnotic Salon and Spa. A busy mother of two, Andi believes that training and intuition are both key to successful therapeutic massage. She has had extensive training in a variety of massage techniques and is currently building her skills in Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening at QuistMD.

Steve Pazan, CPT – Personal Trainer, AIS Therapist

steve-pazanSteve Pazan, CPT, is a staff AIS Therapist and certified personal trainer at QuistMD. Steve is currently completing a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology – Strength and Conditioning at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, where he also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Steve has interned as a Prosthetics and Orthotics Fabricating Assistant at the National Institutes for Health, as well as Walter Reed Medical Center, and is the owner of Big Man Certified, a traveling personal training business. Steve is an active volunteer for many organizations, most notably a Camp Counselor and Stride & Ride Team Leader for the Greater Washington Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Chris Gracy, MPT, CPED – Physical Therapist, Certified Pedorthist

Chris Gracey, MPT, CPed, creates custom orthotics at the clinic for patients with problems related to sports and other injuries, fractures, scoliosis, diabetes, neurological deficits, hypermobility or any condition that requires an external support or protection system for the foot and ankle. During the day, Chris is a physical therapist in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center, where he provides physical therapy and pedorthic services to children and adults. Gracey has over 10 years of experience assessing lower extremity function and fabricating foot orthoses, lower leg braces and shoe modifications. In addition to his clinical work at the NIH, Gracey has managed a multi-disciplinary foot clinic and served as an adjunct professor at Howard University and George Washington University. Gracey is a published author and collaborates on research protocols with the physicians and therapists at the NIH. He received his Masters of Physical Therapy from Howard University in 1999.

Administrative Staff
Jaime Alvarenga – Practice Administrator

jaime-alvarengaJaime Alvarenga, Practice Administrator at QuistMD, has over a dozen years of experience in business management. With strong analytic skills, Jaime has overall responsible for day-to-day operations and customer service. An information technology specialist with previous experience transitioning medical practices to electronic medical record systems, Jaime is leading the effort at QuistMD to go electronic. In his most recent position at JP Killeen & Associates, Inc., Jaime was an excellent project manager, creating customized business intelligence reports to guide strategic decision making – skills and experience he has put to work for QuistMD. He has a proven track record in revenue generation, a strong training framework, and excellent interpersonal skills that facilitate strong employee relations and patient satisfaction. A native Spanish speaker, Jaime is fully bilingual.

Zoe Ozment – Medical Assistant

Zoe Ozment is the Medical Assistant at QuistMD. A recent graduate of Temple University, Zoe is a curious and determined biologist and aspiring medical student interested in healthcare, research and volunteering. Through her BS in Biology she gained advanced laboratory skills, was involved in several research projects, and spent much time as a volunteer – in India, where she assisted at team of doctors and taught English, and in Philadelphia, where she advocated for the unemployed and supported clinicians at St. Agnes Medical Clinic and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish, and plans a career in medicine.

Catherine Ward, LMT – Front Office Manager

catherine-wardCatherine Ward is the Front Office Manager at QuistMD. Trained and licensed as a massage therapist, Catherine serves an integral role as the first line of communication with patients. Her experience and client services skills in a spa setting translated easily to a medical clinic, where patient satisfaction is our goal. Catherine also has administrative experience in fast-paced environments, as well as warm and caring interpersonal skills, key to managing the front office. Catherine graduated from National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, VA, in 2011.

Heidi Worley, MA, CHES – Director of Business Strategies

Heidi Worley is the Director of Business Strategies for QuistMD – The Flexibility, Sports and Rehabilitation Clinic. In her position, Heidi consults on business management decisions, cultivates local and national business partnerships, and promotes clinic services. A health specialist, Heidi has worked on global and domestic health issues for more than twenty years. Formerly, Heidi was Senior Policy Advisor for the Population Reference Bureau, where she wrote and edited policy documents, managed maternal health communication and dissemination projects, conducted policy communication skill building workshops and developed and wrote proposals for funding. She was also the Director of Research & Evaluation for Maternity Care Coalition, where she was a senior manager in charge of the Research and Advocacy department whose role was to analyze the outcomes of a perinatal outreach and education home visiting program for 3000 multiethnic urban and suburban low income pregnant women and new mothers. In this role, Heidi cultivated and managed a dozen research opportunities and academic partnerships in a variety of areas including postpartum relapse, perinatal depression, food insecurity, and client empowerment, and provided oversight on community education, public engagement and advocacy strategies to influence local, state and federal policy makers on maternal and child health issues.
